Eastern North American rifts lacustrine complexes. Regional variations in the character of lacustrine sequences in the eastern North American rift basins are related to south-to-north humid-to-arid transition. The Richmond-type complex represents the humid end member; the Fundy-type complex represents the arid end member; the Newark-type complex is intermediate between the two. Modified from Olsen (1990).
