Aubry Receives Award From Rutgers Research Council

mariecoverEPS Professor, Dr. Marie-Pierre Aubry, was one of three faculty members awarded a grant from the Rutgers Research Council to support faculty research and to encourage scholarship tackling challenging disciplinary problems in the sciences, social sciences, humanities, and creative arts.  Dr. Aubry will be using the funds to help publish her new book titled , Coccolithophores: The Calcifying Haploid Phase in Living Species. Biology, Adaptive Morphology, Taxonomy. Coccolithophores are marine planktonic unicellular organisms with a haploid-diploid life cycle such that they secrete different skeletons during the two phases and live at different water depths.  This book, published by SEPM (Society for Sedimentary Geology), is the first work of its kind that examines the biology and physiology of these two phases through the entire taxonomic spectrum.
