Congratulations to Master's student, Ria Sarkar, who was just elected as the student representative on the board of the Geological Society of America’s Geology and Society Division. Her 2 year term begins during the Annual Meeting in Denver this October. GSA's Geology and Society Division (est. 2003) advances the concept of "geology working for society" by providing GSA members with opportunities to bring together multiple fields of geoscience to address important societal issues.
